+1 For Obama

Good Job, Obama. America needs this...we all do!

Despite all the negative press he's received, I looove that Jamie Oliver is trying to educate people on how to eat more nutritious meals.  We can be a tough crowd to convince, but the good intentions are there.  :)

I ate at The Cheesecake Factory over the weekend. My staple dish is usually a Santa Fe Chicken Salad, a bread roll, a pad of butter, and an Arnold Palmer. Typically, I would've ended my meal with a slice of their red velvet cheesecake, a kind of reward for eating a salad. :)  But this time, instead of asking for the dessert menu, I decided to check out their display. That's when my jaw dropped, the caloric label on a slice of red velvet cake said 1,567 Calories. **Yikes!!**

I quickly tallied what I had eaten. My considerably light meal totaled 1,318 Calories with 46.9g Fat, 178.8g Carb, 35.8 Sugar, and 50g Protein - and, that's NOT INCLUDING dessert! My "reward" would've put me over 2,885 calories in one sitting, nearly 900 calories more than the recommended DAILY average.

The scary thing is that single slice would have meant nearly half a pound of fat to burn off. :(
